Precision Coatings specializes in applying thin mil protective coatings for parts and equipment in the oil and gas industry and other industrial applications. Historically, thick mil coatings like Corvel 1660 and 134 have been used to combat corrosion and abrasion in valves, fittings and manifolds for the past 40 years.

Because we have experience with these coatings, we found that we had re-occurring failures in the same places, namely areas where we could not apply the coating because of tolerance issues.

To solve that problem, we started testing thin mil coatings like Teflon and PC-7102. These coatings have the same if not better corrosion and abrasion protection, and are designed to be applied "thin".

Over the last four years, we have coated thousands of oilfield parts and successfully improved the life span of the coated parts. In most cases the coatings can be successfully applied to the whole part including threads without affecting make up. Because there are no exposed areas either in the threads or inside the valves, we have drastically reduced electrolysis, corrosion and abrasion.
